Michael Hanulak graduated from Hackensack High School in 1933 and after graduation he served in the Army for four years. In 1942, Michael was inducted as a private in Fort Brag, North Carolina, and underwent Field Artillery Basic Training. In 1943, Michael was promoted to corporal. Later, he was promoted to Sergeant as a Supply Clerk in San Antonio, Texas. Finally, Michael was promoted to Staff Sergeant in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Michael received an Honorable Discharge as a Staff Sergeant, Headquarters 4th Army in Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a Supply Non-Commissioned Officer. He played football in the Army. UNC offered him a scholarship, but Michael declined and went home, eventually marrying Rose Sansone. Michael played Semi-Pro football with the Hackensack Steam Rollers. Michael Hanulak died in 1993. Michael's brother, Chet Hanulak graduated from Hackensack High School in 1950 and went on to play professional football. Information provided by: |
